Faculty and Staff Members, please note: if you wish to have academic coordinators or research assistants submit Interlibrary Loan requests for you, please choose a generic password that will permit them access to your Account. Choose a password that is different from your email password. You may change your password through your Interlibrary Loan Account at any time.
Your registration serves several purposes:
Your Username and Password give you secure access to all of your requests, and permit us to send you articles electronically.
Your email and campus mail address enable us to notify you promptly and accurately when we have questions concerning your requests, or when your material arrives.
Your "authorized users" enable others to pick up materials on your behalf.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
Bowdoin College Library reserves the right to decline a copying request if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the request would violate copyright law.
